LIMASSOL, Cyprus – The semisubmersible Songa Trym has completed a program of modifications at the CCB yard in Norway.

Non-conformities identified by Petroleum Safety Authority Norway have been rectified.

The rig moved out of the yard to the surrounding fjord on Jan. 2, and has since undergone incline testing. Currently final parts of the drilling equipment package are being completed and the BOPs are being lifted on board prior to client acceptance testing.

Estimated cost of the yard stay to Songa is $205 million. Work is expected to be finished by the end of this month, after which the rig will start a three-year contract with Statoil under direct Songa Offshore management.
